State Route 162, Mile Marker 12.25 – A water rescue operation is currently underway after a man reportedly jumped from a rock into the Eel River and subsequently stopped ‘moving.’ The incident took place along State Route 162 near mile marker 12.25, and authorities have responded promptly to the emergency.
According to the information relayed by witnesses at the scene, the man leaped from a rock and plunged into the waters of the Eel River, but soon after, he ceased all movement, raising serious concerns for his safety and well-being.
Emergency services were immediately alerted, and first responders have swiftly converged on the scene to initiate the rescue operation. A request for an air ambulance has been made to expedite medical assistance, and a highly-trained swift water rescue team is being deployed in the area to undertake the rescue mission.
As per reports from the dispatcher handling the situation, the subject is believed to be submerged approximately “14 feet” underwater and appears to be “unconscious”.
