ORIGINAL STORY

Potter Valley, Ca – A small wildfire, dubbed the “Buffalo Fire,” which ignited off Highway 20 near mile marker 41, has been primarily extinguished thanks to the swift and heroic efforts of local residents. The fire posed a threat to structures in the area, prompting a coordinated response from emergency services, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and additional resources.

As soon as reports of the Buffalo Fire surfaced, the CHP rushed to the scene to assist with traffic control and ensure public safety. Law enforcement agencies were quick to stage at Potter Valley Road to support the firefighting operations.

Recognizing the potential danger posed by the wildfire, aerial firefighting units were dispatched, ready to drop water and fire retardants to contain the fire’s spread. However, due to the fast and efficient actions of the locals, the situation was quickly brought under control, reducing the need for extensive aerial support.

The fire, which threatened structures, has been mostly extinguished, despite covering only about half an acre.
