Willits, CA – In a harrowing incident that unfolded on the evening of Saturday, July 1st, a Willits resident found herself in a life-threatening situation after being bitten “Multiple” times by a rattlesnake while tending to her property.
This danger serves as a stark reminder of the potential hazards that can arise when living in close proximity to nature. However, thanks to the swift action and expertise of the Little Lake-Willits Fire Department, the woman’s life was saved, and she is now in stable condition.
The tranquil evening turned into a moment of terror when the Willits woman inadvertently crossed paths with a venomous rattlesnake. Engaged in her routine activities on her property, the unsuspecting resident was caught off guard by the snake’s sudden strike.

Unfortunately, the woman’s condition began to deteriorate rapidly as she made her way towards the hospital.
The venom injected by the rattlesnake started to take effect, leading to the onset of severe symptoms. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the woman wisely decided to seek immediate help at the Little Lake-Willits Fire Department, located nearby.
Upon arriving at the fire department, the woman was met by emergency responders who wasted no time in assessing her condition. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, they quickly initiated the necessary measures to stabilize her before transporting her to Howard Memorial Hospital.
