Emergency services on-site; extended traffic control expected
On July 15, 2023, at 6:52 PM, a single vehicle traffic incident occurred on Hwy. 20 near mile marker 29. The accident involved a dark-colored pickup hauling a silver trailer that overturned, with initial reports suggesting the potential involvement of another vehicle.
Upon the arrival of emergency services at 7:08 PM, including fire, medical service organizations, and police, it was confirmed that the situation was a solo vehicle accident. The vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, along with a two-axle trailer, had overturned and landed on its side in a small ditch, partially obstructing the roadway.
The incident resulted in a partial blockage of the westbound lane. Initial reports were unclear regarding the status of passengers within the overturned vehicle, necessitating the alert of medical assistance.
As of 7:15 PM, one individual was transported to Howard with major trauma to the leg, while another sustained minor injuries. It was also confirmed that there was a need for a tow truck due to a flat tire on the 20ft box attached to the overturned vehicle. All In One towing service was contacted, with an estimated arrival time of 25 minutes.
