rescue crews have successfully extricated the injured occupant from the vehicle.

The air ambulance had been dispatched to the crash site to transport the injured party directly to a nearby medical facility. However, a change of plans has been implemented. The air ambulance has now been redirected to meet the first responders at Howard Hospital in Willits, rather than landing near the crash scene.

Willits, CA – A harrowing traffic collision took place on eastbound Highway 20, between Willits and Fort Bragg, at approximately 5:43 p.m. local time today. According to the reporting party (RP), the vehicle involved in the incident veered off the roadway, and landed on its roof approx. 300 feet down.

Per IC: 1 Moderate to Major Injury, Patient extraction under way.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) promptly responded to the scene, deploying emergency personnel and resources to assist those involved. An air ambulance is also enroute. (Reach 3 has accepted with a 20 Min ETA)

In response to the incident, the CHP has implemented traffic diversions and cordoned off the accident site, urging motorists to seek alternative routes. This measure aims to prevent further congestion and facilitate the ongoing investigation. Commuters traveling through the area are advised to exercise caution and follow the instructions of law enforcement personnel on site.
