ORIGINAL STORY
Ukiah, Ca – A small roadside Vegetation fire was stopped this afternoon soon after igniting off of Highway 101 Near the Lake Mendocino Drive Off-Ramp. According to the first units at scene the fire was “1/4 acre, slow to moderate rate of spread.” Despite the relatively small size of the fire, traffic control measures were implemented, leading to significant backups with traffic reportedly stretching back to North State Street.
Forward progress of the fire was stopped around 4:30 PM
Soon after that, the IC Cancelled any resources not at scene, and stated that there will be an approximately 20 minute commitment time.
