6:18 PM: Locals have reported that both lanes of Hwy 20 are now open.

5:26 PM: Hoselay tactics have been implemented around the fire perimeter, as fire engines and hand crews work to establish containment lines.The fire has now been mapped by FIRIS at 26.14 acres. Aerial resources have been released, marking a transition to a ground-focused operation.

4:39 PM: Fire is holding at 15 acres. Potential spotting for the next hour. Multiple Aircraft and Ground crews Continue to work the fire.

4:32 PM: No evacuations needed at this time per IC. Additional copter canceled.

4:25 PM: Fire is looking good per Air Attack. Copter and tankers working left flank. Hwy 20 closed from New Long Valley Rd to the Lake/Colusa County line.

Clearlake Oaks, California — Two separate wildfires have ignited near the Double Eagle Ranch, situated east of Clearlake Oaks. The Oak Fire was first reported at approximately 3:50 PM this afternoon, and has quickly escalated. With the fire now spanning 15 to 20 acres of land and posing a significant threat as it backs into the creek area. Authorities express concerns about the potential for the fire to expand even further, reaching an estimated 500 acres.

The fire’s initial rate of spread was characterized as moderate, but the backing into the creek has created conditions that could contribute to a more rapid expansion. Firefighters are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting strategies accordingly.
